The nature of Saturn should always be comprehended in all
forms before one can really grasp the essence of its placement in any house of
the chart. Fifth house is extremely critical and shows how we perceive events, how
outer circumstances affects us and how and where our brain & intelligence
reacts and find stimulation .We all have seen in our childhood how someone
looks deeply dissatisfied and lost even after getting 95% in exam and how some
others seems to feel relief and are able to derive joy in merely passing. What
makes it possible? Mystery lies in our fifth house(though role of fourth house
cannot be separated and both fourth and fifth houses need to be judged in
matters of feel and inner joy).
Saturn in its real form is a veil, a restrictive force which
blocks free flow of life force. But mere mention of blockage does not make this mighty planet as ‘evil’. What speed
breakers are meant for? For slowing down our moving vehicle, and that’s what exactly
Saturn does. Its motive is grand and it really doesn’t care whether you like it
or its as per your convenience because deep down in esoteric sense, Saturn is
nothing but force of your own Karmas, which will follow you until you escape the
cycle of Samsaara itself. The placement
of Saturn is actually very esoteric and its manifestation in physical world can
be very different based on conscious level of individual and his or her primary
impulses. Still we can learn about generic nature of this placement whose
understanding can open the doors for comprehending this placement in totality, including its basic urge here.
A big wheel in rest for ages or in motion since long comes
to mind if we want to take an analogy .It requires force to either stop or
start this wheel and in physics this phenomena is called as inertia. Inertia, this is precisely the
term that should be the base, the framework on which we can lay our
understanding of Saturn in fifth house .Here Saturn makes one different in the
way they perceive others, all events which they
feel fall outside of them. As these persons grow up, they tend to be silent
performers, they are quite and are born with a void within, an empty space
waiting for some rules and guidelines to be imposed on it .From where these set
of rules will come and with what quality of pride they will be followed will be
determined by large factors though like sign falling in fifth house, state of
Moon and other interrelationships between planets. In generic sense, these
individual can grow up taking their surroundings very seriously, and would accept
limitations as if they were born to pay off some karmic debts. Their inner
state can be of rejection initially, a feeling of losing control over their
external circumstances, a situation of submitting their half baked egos to more
authorative figures around them or to strongly flowing currents of time.
As these individuals start to gain consciousness and their
ego develops ,they become strong in their approach ,which in other terms can
also called as rigid .These individuals have their own unique sense of judging
things, people ,events and often they have pre-set parameters for almost all spheres
of life. Saturn is thoroughly practical and it loves to analyse and measure
stuff in precise quantity and quality,
so these individuals will have their own
templates for everything. For example in matters of love and relationships ,they
tend to settle down late or can also have many disappointments primarily
because they will internally compare the reality(the love &lover in
question) with the images they have framed about love and lover since ages, and
often the comparison is so strict and dry that they are left dissatisfied and disillusioned.
They have their own pace of learning and assimilating things
and adjusting to people and situations. When Saturn is low on strength and not
in its friendly sign, then there could be hesitation in opening up and
expressing oneself freely.Though there are many positive aspects too which
should be looked into. Their minds are powerhouse and they have amazing
capacity to retain knowledge. They can memorize huge amount of data in their
brains and when this Saturn is powerful and healthy, they can be very effective
in analysing and their discriminating powers can be highly evolved. Discussing
shallow aspects of this placement would devoid us of exploring long term vision
of Saturn, which is always far reaching and grounded. These individuals might
take time to trust others but once they open up and share their hearts, they
will make one of the most reliable and trustworthy partners as sincerity is
deeply infused inside them. They need high level of commitment in their relationships
and most of their expectations are implicit and they think others should understand
it.They don’t believe in creating fuss ,rather they like to perform silently
and often remain neutral to excess pain and pleasure.
The Spiritual importance of this placement is very deep. This
house is intimately connected to past lives .Saturn placed here can mean very intriguing
past Karmas. A restricted and unhealthy Saturn here will give constraints and
old Karmic debts have to be paid during its time period. There are many ways in
which this Spiritual giant can achieve this. One can face many disappointments and
delays which will lead to deep detachment giving a way to birth of Spiritual
tendencies .On other hand a powerful Saturn can make one unconsciously regain
fruits of Spiritual deeds done in series of previous lives and one often
restarts this journey when Saturn arrives. They can do extremely well in inner
world as they possess amazing quality to remain detached like a lotus leaf. The words of French philosopher Henri
Bergson will perhaps summarize the essence here, Genius is that which forces the inertia of humanity to learn.
